Santa Cruz Bicycles let PinkBike.com into there test lab to see how an aluminium frame would fare compared to a carbon fibre frame. It really is a great video.

This epic ride was done to emulate a stage of the 1910 Tour de France. Four riders rode 326kms and did 6150m of climbing in 16 hours and 5 minutes. That would give them a N.P.C.C.I. of 154.6! That is the highest I have seen.

Poor old Simon Clarke from Greenedge had a Shimano Di2 battery fail on him in Stage 2 of Tour Cycliste International du Haut Var.
5th again. Absolutely devoed. Battery went flat with 10km to go, so no 53 and had to ride the last climb at 26% with only the 19 cog…

Just downloaded my SRM from yesterdays race with my mishap. In the final kms on the flat I hit over 140rpm multiple times w/ a max of 148rpm

Then on the final climb of 20 whatever % it was, and getting no love from my battery was nearly the whole time below 50rpm and min. of 44rpm

Now there is a tale of woe if ever I saw one. Check the video. One minute his legs are a blur, then he is grinding like a diesel.
Time for a bit of a tidy up of the iBike iSport review. A couple of things have been bought to light.
First thing. In this photo in the Setup and Usage review…
The confusing wire.
It has been highlighted that there seems to be a wire between the Garmin mount and iBike rechargeable mount. That is actually my light battery wire that is just in the exact position to confuse people. Sorry about that. You can actually see the wire between the battery and light in these shots.
The wire seen from the front.
The wire seem from above.
Second point. The rechargeable mount is actually removable. There is a grub screw in the under side of it that you can unscrew and then slide the whole unit off if you need to.
Undoing the grub screw.
The unit mounted on the rechargeable mount.
The stem mount for the rechargeable mount.
The battery in the rechargeable mount is similar to a mobile (cellular) phone battery. It comes with a charger that takes approximately 3.5 hours to fully charge.
I should also take the chance to mention that John Hamann, iBike’s CEO, responded to my first review about the purchase process. Thanks to John for taking the time to comment and hopefully the website and order process will be tidied up.

I’m off to the tip to find an old clunker.
Less than 6 months to wait until this years instalment. Last years Tour de France was fantastic.
