Love My Earth, Except Cyclists

A couple of weeks ago I had another close call with a van that was emblazoned with a company name, including the obligatory “Like us on Facebook” sticker. At the time, I liked them on FaceBook and left them a message with this screenshot of their van.

Basically just asking for some love for cyclists. I had a look at their page the other day and noticed the comment had been removed. Fair enough, if they are going to play that game. Here is the video of the incident.

You can see them come out of the side street on the right before I had cleared the intersection. Then, they accelerated so as to be sure to get through the traffic island before me. In the process, nearly clipping me.

Now, sadly, this wasn’t the end of the days love in with Love My Earth. Here is a screen shot of them after passing me later in the ride. Again, getting way to close, but then making their point by getting on the other side of the white line.

You can click on the photos to see them in a higher resolution.

Now considering they have this on their website…

Not only do we care about your health and bringing you the best organic has to offer, we care about our planet and the communities that inhabit it, and we want to share that love.

… you’d think they could spare the 10 seconds it would have taken to wait for me to clear the traffic islands and then drive on to their destination.

If you would like to send the good people at Love My Earth a message, they are on Facebook or their website is http://www.lovemyearth.net./

I don’t want this to escalate to a case of cyber bullying, just a civil message to remind them of their responsibilities on the road.

Tell them norbs sent you. 🙂
