Another rule is when on or near the front never stop peddalling at the sound of an impending crash of riders behind you. :doh:
Actually, this has nothing to do with holding your line. Holding your line is about going around a corner. This is about why you should never ever half wheel someone. Halfwheeling is what the guy at the back did, they should of known better.
