Here is an interesting comparison. Was having a closer look at the route for the Tour de Kids Plus 2012 charity ride the other day and realised it is nearly comparable to the final 6 days of the Critérium du Dauphiné 2012 which is being raced now. Obviously, I am in no way saying that my fellow fund raisers on the ride would be able to compete in the Critérium du Dauphiné, but it certainly gives an idea of what we are up against.
Sure, we will be going about about 60% of the speed of the pros, and they are going to do a hell of a lot more climbing, but considering my cycling background, I can’t speak for my cohorts, it is going to be a considerable challenge.
This really is what Non Pro Cycling is all about.
