Paris Roubaix Boring. Really?

I have heard a few people say on forums and twitter that they thought the 2012 Paris Roubaix was boring. Apparently, Cancellara not being there, and Boonen riding off into the distance made for a boring race. Is there no pleasing people? Sure, Spartacus wasn’t there, but it didn’t diminish the performance of Boonen. How often do you see a race favourite decide 55kms from home to make a break? And make it stick. Team Sky had 5 in the chasing group at one point and didn’t make a dint in Boonen’s lead. People complain about riders lacking panache. Well here was metric shitload of panache being blasted all over the cobbles of northern France. Are cycling fans really that negative? We got to watch a stunning ride by a bloke who is in the form of his life (1st Paris–Roubaix, 1st Tour of Flanders, 1st Gent–Wevelgem, 1st E3 Harelbeke and 1st Tour of Qatar). Sit back and appreciate a great ride over a hell of a course and stop complaining about things you can’t control. Fabian has his arm in a sling. The rest of them looked pedestrian. Tom rode like a champion. I thought it was great. Chapeau Tornado Tom.
