One G Hincapie. I don’t think he has much of a chance, but it would be good to see an old trooper like him cross the line first at the Roubaix Velodrome. He has had some good results before, 2nd, 4th (twice), 6th (twice), 8th, and 9th out of his 16 starts. I expect he will be working for Ballan mainly, but it could work out like 2007 and Stuey O’Grady. He was working for Cancellara that day but the big man didn’t have the kegs and they let Stuey off the leash and he won it.
He has had some bad luck over the years. His crash in 2006 when the steerer snapped was sickening.
Considering the help he has given Captain Livestrong over the years, you’d have thought he would have got more help in 2001.
So now that he isn’t racing for US Postal or Bruyneel, I would love to see him get a win.
